🧪 How to Collect Your Samples

Collecting your samples is simple, completely non-invasive, and can be done comfortably at home in just a few minutes. Watch the video walkthrough above or follow the detailed steps below:

Step 1 Prepare the Swabs

Carefully remove the organic swabs from the biohazard bag. Try your absolute best not to touch the cotton ends of the swabs. If unavoidable, handle the swabs by touching only one end.

Step 2 Saliva Collection

Hold one end or the middle of the swab and thoroughly rub along your pet's lower gum line and inner cheek area.

Complete this process using all three (3) swabs at once, rubbing both sides or a single side of the mouth.
If you can swab both ends without accidentally touching them, that is ideal! If not, swabbing just one end is perfectly fine.
DO NOT touch the saliva on the swabs, as human contamination will affect test accuracy.
Carefully place them back into the biohazard bag immediately. If swabbing one end only, place them back with the wet end at the bottom.
DO NOT substitute your own cotton swabs. The lab can strictly test only using the provided organic cotton swabs.

Step 3 Hair Collection & Packaging

Use a clean, unused brush or comb so the hair sample is not contaminated by other pets or humans.
Gently collect shedding hair roughly the size of a quarter (or an SGD 50-cent coin).
If your pet does not shed or has ultra-short hair, clip a small snippet of hair from the rump or chest area using clean scissors.
For hairless pets: Make sure the cotton swabs get very wet with saliva—the test can still be run with saliva alone!

Place the hair sample inside the biohazard bag with the swabs, close the zip seal securely, and place the biohazard bag into the Grey mailing bag.
