Why JOOF Carries Glacier Peak Holistics

Founded by certified herbalist Deb Gwynn, Glacier Peak Holistics has spent over 25 years pioneering natural, root-cause pet wellness solutions in Montana. Recognizing that chronic itching, gut distress, and skin yeast stem from biological imbalances, Glacier Peak combines organic herbalism with non-invasive biofeedback testing.

Their signature Pet Intolerance Test and targeted herbal tinctures (like Glacier Peak Gold and Inflapotion) are free from fillers, chemicals, or artificial additives, empowering pet parents to resolve systemic triggers at the cellular level.

Certified Herbalist Founded

Glacier Peak Holistics FAQ

What is holistic care? +

Holistic care, in its most expansive definition, considers the animal as a whole. When illness is involved, the broad definition of holistic allows us to integrate both conventional and complementary therapies. When developing a holistic approach, we can consider lifestyle changes in addition to supportive therapies, such as herbal medicine. Another way to remember that holistic care is expansive in nature is to think of it as whole-istic.

What is the difference between Holistic Medicine and Traditional Veterinary Medicine? +

Traditional Medicine (Western or Allopathic Medicine) treats symptomatic ailments. Generally speaking, traditional medicine does not treat the underlying constitution of the body, the causative conditions, nor bring about a permanent "cure." For example, the most common treatment for injuries and post-surgical pain is an NSAID type of anti-inflammatory, which does not address restorative or regenerative support for body tissues.

In contrast, our Inflapotion contains herbs that aid in healing damaged tissue (muscle, tendon, intestinal lining, or skin). Adding HerbAprin further aids in pain reduction while offering a mild sedative effect to help your animal rest. HerbAprin works synergistically with Inflapotion for a true holistic approach to healing. Western medicine works wonders when the body is "broken," while holistic medicine balances the "whole" body during illness. Sometimes pets need both.

How long does it take before I see results using Glacier Peak Holistics products? +

Results with Inflapotion and Herbaprin are often seen within 48 hours of the initial dose, though it can take up to 2-3 weeks in severe ailments, injuries, or chronic cases.

Why do herbal remedies seem less effective after long-term continuous use? +

In traditional herbal medicine, remedies are "pulsed" to maintain intestinal absorption. A remedy used for 6 days should have 1 day of rest; a remedy used for 6 weeks should have 1 week of rest; and a remedy used for 6 months should have 1 month of rest. If effectiveness slows down, give your animal a brief rest period, then resume on a pulsed schedule (such as 6 days on and 1 day off).

Do you have a natural, non-toxic dewormer for dogs? +

Yes. Glacier Peak Holistics Daily Defense is a natural and non-toxic dewormer for dogs and horses. It is a daily nutritional supplement rich in minerals and antioxidant herbs that creates an environment in the GI tract inhospitable to intestinal parasites. (Note: Daily Defense does not remove blood-borne parasites).
