AnimalBiome Gut Health Test Gut Microbiome Analysis for Dogs and Cats
When a pet’s gut microbiome is imbalanced, vital digestive and immune functions stall—triggering chronic diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, or skin irritation.
The AnimalBiome Gut Health Test uses high-throughput DNA sequencing to analyze your pet’s stool sample against thousands of healthy dogs and cats, detecting over 5,000 bacterial types to pinpoint root causes.

Collect a fresh stool sample (within 4 hours of elimination, or first thing in the morning for cats).
- Uncap both sample tubes (be careful not to spill the clear liquid inside).
- Place both tubes into the tube-stabilizing holes inside the kit box.
- Open one package of swabs and the wrapped wooden stick.
- Put on the gloves.
- Break open the stool using the wooden stick to expose the center (uncontaminated by dirt or debris).
- Scoop a pea-sized piece of stool from the inner section using a swab and place it into the tube.
- Ensure stool is completely submerged in liquid, then screw the cap back on tightly to prevent leakage.
- Repeat the exact procedure for the second tube using the second swab.
- Very Soft Stool / Diarrhea: Dip the swab directly into the stool, avoiding external contaminants. Swirl the swab tip in the liquid to transfer as much material as possible until the liquid changes color.
- Very Hard Stool: Use the swab or wooden stick to firmly transfer the sample into the tube.
- Register your sample online by creating an account and pet profile at app.animalbiome.com.
- Place the sealed sample tubes inside the clear plastic bag containing the white absorbent sheet.
