Shop CocoTherapyWhy JOOF Carries CocoTherapy
Founded by third-generation coconut farm owners and animal lovers, CocoTherapy produces human-grade, USDA organic coconut oil, chips, and treats specifically formulated for pets. Unlike commercial grocery-store coconut oils, CocoTherapy uses single-origin, fresh coconuts processed within hours of harvesting.
Their proprietary cold-pressing method yields extraordinarily high levels of Medium Chain Fatty Acids (Lauric Acid, Caprylic Acid, and Capric Acid) to support gut digestion, skin barrier repair, and immune response in dogs and cats.
High Lauric Acid (53%+)
Contains significantly higher Lauric Acid content than grocery brands to fight yeast flare-ups and support gut health.
USDA Organic & Non-GMO
Sourced directly from certified organic, non-GMO coconut plantations without hexanes, bleaching, or chemical refining.
Raw Cold-Pressed Quality
Processed at low temperatures to preserve vital enzymes, antioxidants, and beneficial nutrient profiles.

CocoTherapy FAQ
Why is coconut oil considered a "miracle oil," and what makes it beneficial for pets? +
Virgin coconut oil is the richest natural source of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), which consist of Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFAs): caprylic (C8:0), capric (C10:0), and lauric (C12:0) acids. Most of coconut oil's health and nutraceutical benefits stem from these MCFAs.
Notably, coconut oil is about 50% Lauric Acid—the only other abundant source found in nature being human breast milk. Research, including work by Dr. Jon J. Kabara, Ph.D., shows that the body converts Lauric Acid into monolaurin, a natural substance that helps protect against viral, bacterial, and protozoal infections while supporting immune and digestive health.
How is TriPlex MCT-3 different from other MCT oils? +
MCT Oil is made through fractionation, a method of distilling oil to separate different types of natural fats. While many companies use chemicals, solvents, hexanes, or excessive heat during distillation to deodorize and yield more oil, CocoTherapy uses zero chemicals, solvents, or hexanes.
We start with our own high-Lauric Acid therapeutic coconut oil rather than cheap cooking-grade oils or copra palm blends. Our proprietary distillation gently melts the oil to separate solid and liquid fractions, resulting in a crystal-clear oil free of trans-fats that remains liquid even at 45°F.
Unlike other brands that remove all Lauric Acid or use RBD (refined, bleached, and deodorized) oil that leaves it odorless and tasteless, we retain a portion of Lauric Acid alongside the natural smell and taste of fresh organic coconut.
What is the main difference between TriPlex MCT-3 Oil and CocoTherapy Virgin Coconut Oil? +
The main difference lies in the concentration of Medium Chain Fatty Acids, ketone conversion speed, and duration of bioavailability.
CocoTherapy TriPlex MCT-3 Oil:
- Total Medium Chain Triglycerides: 93%
- Caprylic Acid (C8): (min) 39%
- Capric Acid (C10): (min) 35%
- Lauric Acid (C12): (min) 8%
CocoTherapy Therapeutic Organic Virgin Coconut Oil:
- Total Medium Chain Triglycerides: 65%
- Caprylic Acid (C8): (min) 12%
- Capric Acid (C10): (min) 7%
- Lauric Acid (C12): (min) 53%
Caprylic and Capric acid elevate blood ketones rapidly in 1.5 hours for approximately 3 hours. Lauric Acid increases blood ketones in 3 hours and maintains elevated levels for around 8 hours.
Can I give both MCT-3 Oil and CocoTherapy Virgin Coconut Oil to my pet? +
Yes! We suggest giving MCT-3 Oil in the morning with breakfast, and Virgin Coconut Oil in the evening with dinner. This combination delivers both a rapid source of energy and sustained blood ketone levels throughout the day.
I give my pet Salmon/fish oils and flax seed oil. Isn't this enough? +
Salmon, fish oils, and flax seed oils do not contain Medium Chain Fatty Acids such as Lauric, Capric, or Caprylic acids. Coconut oil is the only other supplement rich in these specific MCFAs. Therefore, fish and flax oils will not provide the same therapeutic benefits found in coconut oil.
